The problem with the radio was that I could not receive low or high range HD stations in my n.e. (I believed a return to a local store would be easier).You have proved me wrong and I thank you for making this return problem actually easier than returning to a local retailer.
The Sangean WR-2 has solved the problem. My husband loves to listen to sports radio while cooking or doing the dishes, but in our NYC high rise apartment, we get really poor AM reception. And what a bonus to get such beautiful FM reception for the shows and music I enjoy.
the sangean radio is the best table model radio i have ever used;also the best looking.the only reservation i have is the directionality of the am antenna.if the radio is turned 90 degrees from facing the direction in which am reception is best,the am sound quality is ,in my case, poor to the point of not being able to understand.that is a common problem which is accentuated here by having an am antenna inside the case whose orientation can't be changed.i wound several turns of flexible insulated wire into a larger rectangular shape and connected the two ends to the exterior am antenna terminals and oriented it so that the am reception was best.it's better than it was. jay
It also has an adjustment to change the brightness of the display from off to on and different degrees of brightness. Controls are very easy to use. This radio is one of the best clock radios that I have owned. Sound quality is very good. I love that the time is automatically set over the air.
I love the way it sounds and the way it looks. It has a sleek shiny lacquer-look black exterior that makes it blend in perfectly in my modern decor living room. What this picture does not show you is that this radio is really beautiful to have in your room. The picture makes it look like a piece of geeky equipment - but it does not look that way. It's easy to use with super handy remote control.
